Signing in with an authenticator app

An authenticator app (such as 1Password, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) makes a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds.

  1. Open the account menu → Your data → Authenticator app and choose Set up authenticator app.

  2. Scan the QR code with the app, or enter the key below it, and type the 6-digit code the app shows.

  3. Save the 10 recovery codes: each signs you in once when you don’t have your phone. You see them only now.

  4. From then on, signing in asks for the code from the app instead of emailing one. A password reset link asks for it too.

  5. New recovery codes replaces them all; Turn off goes back to the email code. Both ask for a current code. Lost your phone and your codes? Contact support.
